Details:
The primary coil of the leakage protection sensor is connected to the power grid, and the secondary coil is connected to the trip unit in the leakage protection device. When the electrical equipment is operating normally, the current in the line is balanced, and the sum of the current vectors in the sensor is zero.
Since there is no residual current in the primary coil, the secondary coil is not induced, and the leakage protection device’s switch operates in the closed state. If a leakage current develops in the equipment casing and is touched,
current is shunted at the fault point. This leakage current is grounded and returns to the transformer neutral point, causing an imbalance in the current flowing into and out of the transformer, generating a residual current in the primary coil. This current then induced the secondary coil, and this current was output to the actuator for on/off control.
